Lauran Wilkinson

About Lauran:

I am a practising artist based in Worcestershire, specialising in mixed media. My current focus is on my experiences with endometriosis and how it affects me, primarily using metaphors to articulate my narrative through textiles. I have a background in painting, sculpture, and installation art. I embrace various materials that enhance the narrative of my work rather than confining myself to a single medium.
In 2017, I trained as a monumental artist, specialising in realistic paintings on headstones for commissions. I continue to undertake this project occasionally and am open to future work.
I am also working on a participatory project called Creative Flow, which involves collaborating with women who have experienced endometriosis. I aim to explore the holistic tools that creativity can offer to enhance well-being and promote positive engagement in life. This project serves as an evaluation for my master’s program, where I seek to determine whether art can be used to express our lived experiences and foster a sense of belonging among like-minded individuals.
